## Short answer

areuworking is a time-off manager for small teams. It replaces the spreadsheet, the Slack messages asking "is anyone off Friday?", and the Google Calendar that nobody updates.

## Best for

Agencies, support teams, product teams, remote teams, founder-led companies, and small operations teams between 5 and 100 people that have outgrown a spreadsheet but do not want a heavy HR platform. Bought by founders, ops leads, and people managers. Used by everyone on the team.

## What it replaces

- Time-off spreadsheets
- Slack messages asking who is off
- Manual Google Calendar tracking
- Ad-hoc PTO request emails

## How it works

1. **Request.** Your team requests time off — pick the dates, the type (holiday, sick, personal), add a note if it matters.
2. **Approve.** You get notified. Approve or decline. The request shows up on the team calendar and the requester's allowance updates automatically.
3. **See coverage.** Open the dashboard. See who's off today, this week, and over the next two weeks.

## Live features

- Time-off requests (holiday, sick, personal, bank holiday)
- Approvals workflow (org-wide or team-based, with manager-level approvals)
- Bank holiday auto-import by country
- Team calendar feeds: auto-updating ICS subscriptions for Google, Outlook, and Apple Calendar
- Team availability dashboard (out today, this week, upcoming)
- Allowance tracking with rollover and reset dates
- Teams, roles, and managers
- Invites with email delivery
- Presence API with key-based authentication
- API key management with rotation
- MCP server for MCP-compatible AI assistants

## Coming next

- Smart Excel import: bring existing time-off records and allowances in from a spreadsheet.
- Google and Outlook connectors: deeper calendar integration for approved time off and coverage.
- Automations: create rules for reminders, coverage checks, and routine follow-ups.
- Slack and Teams digests: send availability summaries where the team already works.
- Webhooks: push request, approval, and presence events into your own workflows.

## Pricing

- **Free** — up to 3 team members, $0/month
- **Startup** — 4 to 20 members, $19/month or $190/year
- **Growth** — 21 to 50 members, $49/month or $490/year
- **Scale** — 51+ members, $99/month or $990/year, +$1/member over 100

Every paid plan includes a 14-day trial. A card is required up front to start a paid trial; cancel any time before it ends and you are not charged. The Free plan never requires a card.

## Developer and AI assistant access

The Presence API ships on every plan, including Free. A single endpoint, `GET /api/v1/presence`, returns who is in and who is out for any date range. Authentication is via Bearer API key.

The areuworking MCP server lets MCP-compatible assistants check availability, read balances, list requests, book leave, cancel pending requests, review approvals, list members, and understand teams through the connected user's app permissions.
